Some Things that God Cannot Do

Change

For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. (Malachi 3:6)[1]

Break Scripture

If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; (John 10:35)

Lie

That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: (Hebrews 6:18)

Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness; In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; (Titus 1:1-2)

Tempt Man

Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: (James 1:13)

Nonsense

Also, nonsense remains nonsense, even when we talk it about God. An example: Can God create a rock so heavy that He cannot lift it?

God Is Not Unlimited

God has chosen, therefore, to limit Himself in a few areas. He cannot change, break Scripture, lie, tempt or be tempted with evil, as the passages above show. After all, if He were absolutely unlimited, He could change the gospel on us and condemn all current and past Christians to eternity in hell. That would be a scary thought!
